Our Senior and Junior Recreational Competition Squads competed in their first competition of the year, and for a number of our competitors, their first competition ever.

 

In the first round of competition, we had two under 9 teams and an under 11 team. Under 9 Team A (Lexie, Mary, Daisy and Fleur) placed 2nd and Under 9 Team B (Felicity, Caitlyn, Olivia, Freya and Alicia) placed 3rd. Team A showed some promising gymnastics and big improvements on previous competitions, and Team B all competed at their first competition with big smiles showing the improvements they have made in the last few months to achieve the skills needed to compete. Lexie and Daisy from Team A placed 2nd and 3rd individually. Our under 11 team (Poppy, Phoebe-Rose, Evie, Katie, Emily and Maddie) showed a number of new skills and routines to come home with rosettes for placing 2nd.

In the final round of the day, we had two under 13 teams and a 16 and above team competing. Our two under 13 teams placed 1st (Amelie, Niamh, Danni, Lucy and Emily-Mae) and 2nd (Lucy, Coni, Alicia, Lola and Leah), showing well controlled skills. Niamh won the gold medal in the individual competition, with Emily-Mae taking 2nd place. In the 16 and above category, our team (Grace, Megan, Amelie, Mia and Lily) placed 1st and took a clean sweep of the individual medals with Megan placing 1st, Grace 2nd and Lily 3rd. A special mention goes to Lily and Amelie who competed so well in an age category up.
